Issues We Treat

Whatever is bringing you to therapy, we will match you with the right therapist for your specific needs. Not sure if we can help? Call Susan at (289) 500-8039 for a free intake call.

People come to Newmarket Therapy Centre for many different reasons. Some arrive in crisis. Others have been quietly struggling for years and have finally decided to do something about it. Some are not entirely sure what is wrong -- they only know that something is not right and has not been for a long time.

What all of our clients have in common is this: they deserve to be matched with a therapist who genuinely understands what they are going through. Before you ever sit down with a therapist, Susan personally listens to your situation and selects the person best equipped to help -- not just clinically, but as a human being.

Below is a full list of the clinical issues our team works with. If you do not see your concern listed, call us -- the list is not exhaustive and we may still be able to help.

Our Approach

How We Match You with the Right Therapist

Finding the right therapist is not just about clinical training. It is about the right fit -- the right approach, the right personality, the right human connection. That is what Susan does.

Step One

Your Free Intake Call with Susan

Susan Graham, our Client Care Manager, takes every new inquiry personally. She will listen carefully to what is bringing you to therapy -- your situation, your history, what you have tried before, and what you are hoping for. This call is free, unhurried, and without any obligation.

Step Two

Personal Matching -- Not Just Availability

Based on what Susan learns, she selects the therapist on our team who is genuinely best suited to your particular needs -- clinically and personally. She considers therapeutic approach, personality, lived experience, and the specific nature of your concerns. You will not simply be assigned to whoever is next available.

Step Three

Your First Session

Your first session is about beginning to build the relationship that will make real work possible. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Your therapist will follow your pace, help you feel safe, and start to understand the full picture of what you are carrying.

Our Guarantee

We Guarantee the Fit

If after your first session you do not feel comfortable with your therapist -- for any reason -- we will match you with someone new at no extra charge. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of everything, and we stand behind that.

Common Questions

Questions About Getting Started

How do I know if you treat what I am going through?
The best way is to call Susan at (289) 500-8039 for a free intake call. She will listen to what is bringing you in and let you know honestly if we are the right fit. The list above is comprehensive but not exhaustive -- if your concern is not listed, we may still be able to help.
Can I see a therapist for more than one issue at a time?
Yes -- and in practice, almost everyone does. Most people arrive carrying more than one concern, and the issues are often deeply related. Your therapist will work with everything that is relevant to your wellbeing, not just one presenting problem.
Are all of your therapists trained in all of these areas?
Different therapists have different areas of specialisation and clinical experience. This is exactly why the matching process matters. Susan knows each therapist's strengths, training, and areas of expertise, and selects the person who is genuinely best suited to your specific concerns.
What if I am not sure what my issue is -- I just know something is wrong?
That is one of the most common reasons people call us. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a clear sense of what is going on. Many people simply know that they are not okay and that they need help. That is enough to start. Susan will help you begin to articulate what is happening, and your therapist will help you understand it more deeply over time.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. Online therapy is available to anyone in Ontario and is equally effective as in-person work for most concerns. All of our services are available virtually with the exception of Neurofeedback, which requires in-person attendance at one of our locations.
What does the first session look like?
Your first session is primarily about beginning to build a relationship with your therapist and helping them understand your situation. There is no expectation that you will share everything at once, and nothing is rushed. Your therapist will follow your pace, ask questions to understand the full picture, and start to get a sense of what you are carrying and what you are hoping for.
