Training & Experience
Client Centred & Goal Orientated
Samira is a is client-centered, and goal-oriented therapist. Her interest is in supporting adults and youth across a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, cross-cultural issues, stress related to immigration, and major life changes. She uses multiple therapeutic approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), FST (Family Structural Therapy) and Mindfulness.
Expertise in Family Systems
Samira is a graduate of the Master of Arts in clinical social work program at Wilfred Laurier University where she has studied a several approaches to therapy. Prior to this program Samira has completed a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies. Samira has an educational background in early childhood education and is a registered early childhood educator in Ontario. She has previous experience working as a counselor in a community mental health setting offering counselling services to clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or experiencing family relationships issues and struggles.
Building A Collaborative Relationship – Safe and Non-Judgmental
Samira focuses on alliance building through continuous efforts toward anti-oppressive practice. Samira is a passionate therapist and helps clients to find their strengths and overcome the weaknesses and barriers on their way to achieve their goal. It is her goal to build a collaborative relationship with the clients and create a safe and nonjudgmental environment to ensure her clients feel comfortable and safe to share their stories. She is dedicated in supporting her clients to reach their own full potential and make positive changes in their life.
