Training & Experience
Simar Lowther is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) and is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Simar has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families with various emotional, psychological, and relational concerns such as anxiety, stress, depression, interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief and work/life balance.
Simar collaborates with clients using an integrative approach to find what works best for each individual. She incorporates a blend of strategies drawn from cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and mindfulness-based interventions to tailor your needs. Simar values compassion, integrity, mindfulness, and respect in her work and life, applying these principles to promote authentic growth and well-being for her clients.
Simar completed her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has previously graduated with an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology from India. She has also completed a Diploma in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College and Diploma in Health Care Administration from St. Lawrence College.
