Training and Experience
My Commitment
My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience. I offer a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where we can explore what matters most to you. My therapeutic approach is holistic and person-centered, grounded in both neuroscience and emotional insight. I believe in your capacity for healing, and I’m here to help you reconnect with your inner strength and sense of possibility.
Education & Experience
I hold a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. After a 20+ year career leading national and global public health initiatives—including mental health policy, trauma-informed care systems, and maternal and child health programs—I transitioned into counselling in 2021 to work directly with individuals and families in their healing journeys.
As the founding CEO of the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) and a senior advisor at the World Health Organization, I worked extensively in emotional health promotion, caregiver stress, and trauma-sensitive care. My clinical work now integrates this systemic understanding with evidence-based interventions for anxiety, burnout, trauma, parenting challenges, and identity transitions.
My Approach
My therapeutic orientation is integrative and client-centered, blending CBT, DBT, and mindfulness with somatic and nervous-system-informed practices. I support clients in exploring the connection between thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, while helping them build resilience, clarity, and a deeper sense of self. I work particularly well with caregivers, health professionals, and individuals facing significant life changes. My goal is to create a space where your story is heard, your goals are honoured, and healing feels possible.
Nutrition Counselling
In addition to psychotherapy services, I also provide nutritional counselling to my clients. You will learn about the impact nutrition has on your mood, including the role of inflammation.
