About Georgia

Georgia Paterson is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Newmarket Therapy Centre, working with adults and teens. She is dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences — at their own pace and on their own terms.

In her work, Georgia prioritises building a strong therapeutic alliance grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration. She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives, and that with the right support and guidance, people can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and develop effective coping strategies to navigate life's challenges.

Whether you are facing difficulties with life transitions, struggling with anxiety, stress, or depression, or seeking personal growth and fulfilment, Georgia is here to walk alongside you every step of the way — uncovering strengths, surfacing new perspectives, cultivating resilience, and building practical coping tools.

Clients are the experts on their own lives. With the right support and guidance, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, develop effective coping strategies, and build a more meaningful and fulfilling life — one step at a time.

Georgia Paterson — Newmarket Therapy Centre

Clinical Approach

Georgia takes an integrative approach, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) modalities — and weaving in mindfulness and client-centred work where it serves the person in front of her. Each session is tailored to the client's unique needs and goals, blending empathetic listening, insight-oriented exploration, and practical skills-building.

Together, the work focuses on uncovering strengths, surfacing new perspectives, cultivating resilience, and building the coping mechanisms that help you live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Georgia is currently available at a reduced rate as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) under supervised practice.
