About Patricia

Patricia Sebbag is a Registered Social Worker with both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from McGill University, and more than 20 years of social work experience primarily in health care settings. She brings to her clinical practice a deep specialisation in the psychological dimensions of chronic disease management — an area that demands particular skill, sensitivity, and an ability to hold the complexity of medical, emotional, and relational challenges simultaneously.

Patricia's approach to therapy is genuinely client-centred, drawing on individual strengths to create a solution-focused direction that is tailored to each person's unique experience and reality. With over two decades of health care practice, she brings a breadth of understanding to the diverse challenges that clients bring — from anxiety and depression to life transitions, relationship difficulties, work and family struggles, and the sustained burden of living with chronic illness.

Patricia uses empathy, compassion, and deep respect in every session — creating the conditions of safety and trust that allow clients to share their story and work meaningfully toward positive change.

Patricia Sebbag — Newmarket Therapy Centre

Clinical Approach

Patricia utilises a wide range of counselling modalities — including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, goal-setting to effect behaviour change, brief action planning, and narrative therapy. She draws on individual strengths to achieve a solution-focused direction unique to every person's experience, while also helping clients identify and replace negative thought patterns with more positive, constructive ways of engaging with themselves and their circumstances.

Her work in chronic disease management spans more than 20 years and reflects a sophisticated understanding of the psychological burden that serious illness places on individuals and families — and the particular therapeutic skill required to support people navigating that burden effectively. Beyond chronic illness, Patricia's clinical work extends to anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, work pressures, and family challenges.
