About Theodora

Theodora Tong is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over seven years of clinical experience supporting adults through the long arc of mental health, trauma healing, and relational repair. Her graduate training was completed at New York University — one of North America's most rigorous clinical programs in psychodynamic and creative arts psychotherapy, where she received advanced training in psychodynamic theory, trauma-informed care, and integrative treatment approaches.

What sets Theodora apart is the depth and breadth of her clinical foundation. Beyond conventional talk therapy, she holds specialised training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for developmental and attachment trauma, and advanced study in Vocal Psychotherapy — a modality focused on emotional expression, psychosomatic healing, and relational repair. Her clinical experience spans private practice, community mental health, and integrative treatment settings, supporting clients across the full spectrum of psychological complexity.

"Healing extends beyond cognitive insight alone. By integrating evidence-based psychotherapy with body awareness, creative expression, and relational repair, we can process what is held both emotionally and physically — creating change that is deeper and more lasting."

Clinical Approach

Theodora's approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, psychodynamic, and deeply relational. She works particularly well with insightful, self-aware clients who continue to feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns — people who have already done meaningful work and know they are ready to go deeper.

Much of her practice focuses on adults who were required to grow up too fast — and who now find themselves navigating the long-term effects of attachment wounds, persistent anxiety, depression, self-worth challenges, and relational struggles that talk therapy alone has not been able to fully reach.

☀ Signature Practice

NARM & Developmental Trauma

Theodora holds specialised training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) — one of the leading frameworks for working with developmental and attachment trauma in adults.

This approach is for clients who carry the long-term effects of having grown up too fast — the unmet needs, attachment ruptures, and survival patterns that continue to shape adult life. NARM works at the intersection of self-regulation and connection.

☀ Signature Practice

Vocal Psychotherapy & Creative Integration

Advanced training in vocal psychotherapy, guided imagery, and music therapy allows clients to access emotions and experiences that often remain out of reach in traditional talk therapy — particularly the pre-verbal and somatic layers where attachment trauma is held.

These modalities are never required — they are offered as an additional pathway for clients curious to explore healing through sound, image, and the body alongside conventional psychotherapy.

She integrates NARM, psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Jungian-informed parts work, mindfulness practices, and psychosomatic interventions — bringing the right tools to each unique client, rather than applying a single method to every person. The work unfolds at the client's pace, in a calm, non-judgmental space designed for deep emotional regulation, insight, and relational repair.
