About Nadia

Nadia Stolpner is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with 17 years of clinical experience supporting adults across the long arc of mental health, nervous-system healing, and inner growth. She completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto and has spent nearly two decades cultivating an integrative practice grounded in psychodynamic warmth, mindfulness, and the body's own intelligence.

What distinguishes Nadia's practice is the depth and breadth of her training in body-based and contemplative modalities. Beyond traditional talk therapy, she holds advanced training in somatic therapy, dance/movement therapy, authentic movement, sensory awareness, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy — a rare clinical foundation that allows her to meet clients in the layered places where thinking, feeling, and embodiment intersect.

Her clinical home for eight of those years was a college counselling services centre, where she supported a remarkably diverse population — clients across the spectrum of mental wellness, neurodivergence, cultural backgrounds, and life experience. That breadth shaped a clinician known for attuned presence, unconditional positive regard, and a quiet conviction that healing is already underway in every client who walks through the door.

Nadia Stolpner — therapist offering somatic and mindfulness-based therapy at Aurora Village

“Within each of us there is innate wisdom always guiding us toward greater wellness.”

"With therapeutic conditions of attuned presence and unconditional positive regard — combined with clinical knowledge and the body's natural healing intelligence — growth finds its way forward, gently."

Clinical Approach

Nadia's practice is integrative, collaborative, and profoundly individualised. No two clients receive the same therapy, because no two lives are alike. Each session is shaped to the unique architecture of who you are — your preferences, your readiness, your pace, and the particular questions life is asking of you.

Her work often begins with what she calls reconnection: helping clients gently turn toward their own inner experience, become aware of long-held emotions and patterns, and discover the deeper needs and longings that have been waiting to be heard. Over time, this work supports clients in transforming the beliefs and survival patterns that no longer serve them — and stepping into a fuller expression of their authentic selves.

☀ Signature Practice

Somatic Therapy & Body Wisdom

For clients who sense that healing must reach beyond words, Nadia offers a body-based pathway — somatic therapy, mindfulness, and dance/movement therapy that meet you where talk alone cannot.

The body holds what we have not yet had words for. Working somatically means learning to listen, to soften, and to allow the nervous system its own quiet path back to regulation and ease.

☀ Signature Practice

Mindfulness & Expressive Arts

Drawing on training in MBSR, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and expressive arts therapy, Nadia weaves contemplative practice into her clinical work — offering tools that extend the therapy hour into daily life.

For clients curious to explore non-verbal pathways, movement, image, and creative expression become additional languages through which the deeper self can speak.

Nadia also draws fluently from traditional clinical modalities — Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy — bringing the right tool to each moment rather than forcing a single approach onto every client. Her holistic philosophy holds that beneath every struggle, there is a place within us that is already whole. Much of the work is simply remembering our way back to it.
