About Sayena
Sayena Heidari is a Registered Psychotherapist at Aurora Village Therapy & Wellness Centre, holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She works with individuals, families, and adolescents in both English and Farsi — offering deep compassion, a trauma-informed lens, and a strength-based approach that empowers clients to navigate life's challenges, reconnect with their inner resilience, and build lasting emotional well-being.
Sayena's approach is to create a space that feels safe, empathetic, and collaborative. She believes that every individual's journey is unique and deserves to be met with understanding and respect — tailoring each session to the client in front of her, while always maintaining a strength-based, trauma-informed lens.
"I feel privileged to witness the remarkable resilience and healing potential in every client I work with. I strongly believe in the power and capacity within each individual — and my role is to help cultivate the self-awareness and self-compassion that allows you to find balance and meaning in your life."
Sayena Heidari — Aurora Village Therapy & Wellness CentreClinical Approach
Sayena draws from a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Gestalt Therapy. She tailors her approach depending on each client's needs — supporting clients to explore their concerns through a strength-based lens that recognises their existing capacities and resources.
Over the past decade, Sayena has worked in community mental health agencies including the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and various Psychotherapy Centres, gaining extensive experience in assessment, therapy, and supporting individuals with diverse concerns. Outside of therapy, her other passions are nature walks, gardening, and spending time with her family of four.
