Training & Experience

Jacqueline brings a warm, compassionate presence to support you through life’s most difficult challenges and to help you clarify and pursue goals that reflect what matters most to you.

With a client-centered and holistic approach, she integrates elements of Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, somatic, and experiential methods to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, low selfworth, and relationship struggles. For those interested in exploring deeper patterns, Jacqueline also draws on psychodynamic principles to better understand how early relationships and childhood experiences may be shaping your present life. Together you will work to heal old wounds and build new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

Jacqueline supports adults impacted by  trauma, including childhood and sexual abuse, by drawing on trauma-informed methods grounded in the work of Janina Fisher. This approach helps stabilize the nervous system, make sense of how the brain and body adapted to survive trauma, and introduces safe, body-based interventions. It also supports the recognition of inner strengths and the development of a more compassionate relationship with the inner child or parts of the self, with the goal of greater integration. Jacqueline has used these methods with care and sensitivity in both her private practice and her previous role as a counsellor at a Sexual Assault Centre.

A former Registered Nurse, Jacqueline holds a Master’s-level Diploma in Spiritual Psychotherapy (2013), which addresses the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of well-being. In this context, spirituality means whatever it means to you—whether it’s a sense of connection to something greater through nature or the arts, personal beliefs and practices, or simply what brings meaning and purpose to your life. This training assisted Jacqueline during her four years as a hospice counsellor to support individuals and families through the profound changes that come with life-limiting illness, anticipatory grief, and bereavement.

Since 2016, Jacqueline has engaged in extensive training in Expressive Arts Therapy and is nearing completion of a three-year Master’s-level program at the CREATE Institute. Expressive Arts Therapy incorporates a range of expressive modalities—such as writing, movement, sound, painting, collage, installations, storytelling, and role-play—in a sensory-based process that brings you into the present moment, reveals inner blocks, and connects you to the resources within yourself needed to move forward. This trauma-informed approach is especially helpful when words feel out of reach or difficult to express. It can soothe both body and mind, promote a sense of self-efficacy, and support you in imagining new possibilities and narratives for your life.

Over the past two years, Jacqueline has facilitated several expressive arts therapy groups for survivors of violence and sexual abuse, using intermodal activities to help participants strengthen skills in grounding, emotional regulation, boundaries, self-compassion, and building community.  No art experience needed- just an open mind and willingness to explore.
